I just don't get this place at all. I was passing through and saw the solid reviews and decided to give it a try. When you walk in you find yourself in a dark confined space packed with "country" stuff that I guess is supposed to give you a Cracker Barrel type vibe. It's all dusty, and should have been my hint to turn around and find something else. To get to your table, the server escorts you down a hallway that opens up into a HUGE room complete with a stage, DJ booth, TVs, games, bar and tons of tables. This place can't seem to decide what it wants to look like... BBQ joint, sports bar, club, or church (yes there are lots of signs indicating that they hold church in here too). The food itself was underwhelming. Served dripping with sauce and overcooked, the brisket was not deserving of the praise I read about in other reviews.

Amazing BBQ pork ribs n fried Okra! Surprised to find a great Texan BBQ In Florida! The staff even talked like texans! Great (and big) place, great food and service, I'd def come back! Also fun was the DJ doing a Name-that-Tune game with TV show theme songs! Wish we were here on a Sunday to check out the Blue Jean Church that's held there, too!

Had a BBQ craving, decided to give it a go. Huge place, varied menu. I ordered the half rack of ribs with slaw and baked beans for my sides. Excellent! I asked for my ribs dry, not a huge fan of BBQ sauce. 6 huge smokey, meaty ribs, very pleased. Very affordable. Beans and slaw were good as well. Hubby had the BBQ sampler plate. Pulled pork, brisket and two ribs, baked potato and grilled veggies were his sides. He loved the pulled pork. He's not a big beef eater so I ended up with the brisket, yummy. His ribs came sauced, he was a happy camper. We also hit here during happy hour; two for one wells and beers. So, if in the mood for BBQ and find yourself on DeFuniak Springs, this is the place to go!

Forget the other reviews on the decor.. I come to a restaurant to eat not look at the walls. If you're looking for good southern food then this is the place. My family makes sure to hit this place every time we drive home from vacation. Good prices and nice service as always.

This seems to attract folks from the area for live country music. Maybe that gives them the edge to survive. The restaurants food ranged from mediocre to inedible. BBQ was so salted I couldn't eat a single rib of the half rack we got on a BBQ platter. All meats tasted as if they were dunked in liquid smoke no real wood flavor to be had if you could get through the layer of salt on each bite. Salads were just as week and covered in mounds of shredded processed cheese, as if to cover up it's very being there. Nothing but eye rolling and awful facial expressions from the staff for any simple requests or needs. Avoid at all costs is the only recommendation I can give....unless your hankering for live country music.

My wife and two daughters were returning from a weekend in Destin, and we hit DeFuniak Springs at dinner time on a Sunday evening. After checking reviews, 4C BBQ looked like the best choice out of the restaurants that were open on a Sunday evening. We were seated promptly, and our waitress was prompt and friendly. We received our drinks in a timely manner, and our meal orders were taken. Unfortunately, that is where the good portion of this review ends. I ordered a brisket sandwich and fries, my wife ordered a salad and baked potato, one daughter ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken dinner with a baked potato, Texas pintos and a side salad, and my other daughter ordered a smoked chicken breast with baked beans and fries. The lone bright spot was my brisket. It was tender and juicy, with good flavor, BUT the rest of the food bordered on inedible. The 1/2 smoked chicken was very old. The skin was dry and almost papery, and the meat was VERY dry and almost non-exist. It was obvious that the chicken had been cooked and held for quite a while, and it was long past the time when it should have been served. The baked potatoes were brown inside, another sign that the food had been cooked long ago and was past its prime. The ranch dressing that came with my daughter's side salad had a very strange consistency and flavor. Both the baked beans and Texas pintos were very sticky and thick - again they had been held too long. My other daughter's smoked chicken breast was okay, but very bland and it had a strange texture. I would also like to agree with another poster's comments on the BBQ sauce. It was VERY sweet and not good. It may appeal to some, but at a minimum 4C should offer a few varieties instead of just the sickly sweet sauce. The final issue we had was that all of the food (with the exception of my brisket) was served at room temperature (cold), not even a bit warm. This was a very disappointing meal, and someone at the restaurant should have realized that it was not appropriate to serve food that was way too old for consumption. It would be better to just close on Sunday, or offer a limited menu of items that are reasonably fresh. Perhaps if we had eaten at 4C on a Friday night it would have been better. I'm guessing that's when most of our food was cooked!

Great atmosphere! Great bbq! 5 stars definitely! Must stop if you're in the area! The bbq sampler was excellent! And don't forget to tell the owner, Robin, BOOMER SOONER!

The BEST Texas BBQ you can get in Florida, and this is coming from a true Texan. Their brisket is amazing, and they have the most delicious BBQ sauces I have ever tasted! The staff and owner were so welcoming, and made it their top priority to make sure you have a good time! The restaurant is located further in the back of the building, but it's worth walking an extra 15 feet to get the best quality BBQ in Florida!

This authentic Texas BBQ. The brisket is by far the best thing on the menu. Have eaten here as a local on numerous ocasions and am never disappointed. Do yourself a favor and order the beef brisket, u won't be sorry

I recently ate at this BBQ place while I was in Defuniak Springs. My wife and I did a simple search for restaurants in the area. This place had no reviews compared to the other restaurants that had negative reviews. So we decided to order from here. Once we got our food, for starters the food was not very good. The ribs were burnt and just covered in sauce to hide the fact. The meat from the other platter we had ordered was dry. However, since we were hungry, we ate the food anyway (boy was this a mistake). Later in the day, my wife and I kept getting severe heartburn from this place. I didn't think it was a big deal until she started to feel sick. She threw up eventually at a rest stop. I wasn't feeling very well either. By the time I got home at the end of the day, I laid in bed. Then all of a sudden I rushed to the bathroom and threw up for almost half hour. My biggest advice to anyone.... DO NOT EAT THERE!!!

Food is excellent and the service is fantastic. Biggest problem I have is to get something other than smoked wings, they are just too good to pass up. The other items on the menu are great as well, but I am hooked on the wings. And, when they say wing, that is what you get, not the cut up version you get other places. I have had most menu items at one point or the other, they are a traditional Texas style BBQ place so the best thing on the menu (besides the wings) is the brisket. This is also the only place in the area that carries Shiner on draft, the nectar of the Gods.

Good bbq, good service, cool place. Got the pulled pork plate with baked beans and corn. Corn was really good and had the fresh home cooked taste. Would definitely come back

Recently went and had the brisket dinner. Meat was dry and barely warm. Got the corn nuggets as a side and received 4 of them. Their BBQ sauce is awful. Really too sweet. Waitress was completely inept. Asked us literally every few minutes if we needed anything which was more annoying than helpful but couldn't seem to remember anything we asked for in the first place! A complete waste of money. I don't see this establishment staying open much longer at all.

Wow, what a disappointment. Too big for their britches. This establishment has lost its roots. Previously located in a more rural setting in a "shed" like building with a dirt parking lot....Now in a strip mall with SYSCO food. Guys time to go home to what ou once were.....Sadly I am not coming back for dinner.

Friendly staff, barbecue is delicious, prices very reasonable. The fresh cut potato chips might be the best I've ever had.

BBQ had a good flavor. But not hot, just warm. Since eating at lunch I guess it had not fully heated. Slaw had a bit too much mayo for my taste. Fries were very good. Toast was a bit overdone, not burnt, but almost. Will try them again to see if time helps them get it better. Service was okay.

This place has the best BBQ I've ever had! Try the smoked tuna dip!!! They have some odd plates, like pork and pickle pizza and chicken balls. I have NEVER had anything bad and NEVER dripping with sauce. The desserts are homemade as is the salsa and margarita mix. Yes, they have a full bar and full restaurant menu as well as church on Sunday morning. The owners strive to keep the restaurant family-friendly with a wonderful fun and relaxed atmosphere.
